Week Three Recap and important Info

Hey Sharks!

We finally got through a full week of practices without having to cancel which was great! Our mock meet was a great success and it looked like everyone was having a lot of fun. This week we worked a lot on technical skills like turns, finishes, and breaststroke kick to help prepare us for our first competition meet. As always there is a lot of important information in this email so please make sure you read through to the end.

Our First Competition Meet is THIS Tuesday

Please declare your swimmer as attending or not attending by Monday afternoon. This meet will be seeded and more organized than our mock meet, so we need our finalized list of swimmers sooner rather than later. Our meet is against Scottish Hills @1423 Tarbert Drive Cary, NC 27511

If you missed the Mock Meet:

If you were unable to attend the mock meet, we are trying to get your times before our meet on Tuesday. If you are a year-round swimmer and have a good list of your average times, please email them to me. If you do not have your times and were not at practice today, please try and come to our Monday night practice and we will time you then. Please email me if you have any questions as well.

Volunteers are needed for concession coordination

We are looking for two volunteer coordinators to help with concessions for the home meets. Duties include:

1. Buying ice for coolers and helping with set-up for home meets

2. Ordering hot food on the days of the home meet and organizing delivery or pick up

Please reach out to Natalie Osborn on 651-206-6888 or [email protected] for further details.

Swimmers of the Week

This week’s Swimmers of the week are:

Benjamin Rodriguez from the Makos

Lucas Bonner from the Tigers

Emily Wilson from the Hammerheads

All of these swimmers are doing a great job of exemplifying what it means to be a shark in their good attitudes and effort. GO SHARKS

Buddies

This year we are continuing the shark tradition of having buddies! The buddies are a chance for our younger swimmers to have and older swimmer role model and friend so everyone has at least one specific person to cheer for and talk to at practices and the meets. Our older buddies who have 6&Under buddies can kid catch them at the meets. It has also become tradition for the buddies to exchange candy or, if we have a theme for the meet, something that goes with the meet theme before each meet starts. Attached to this email is our buddy list (some people are in groups of three.)

Lessons

As always, all three coaches are available to do private lessons outside of practice at the same half hour rate. We all have varying availability but feel free to email any one of use if you are interested in setting up a lesson. All coach emails can be found on the website under the Coaches tab.

Thank you again to all who volunteered at our mock meet and thank you parents for letting your kids be a part of our team. We are all having a fun time. As always feel free to email me with any questions.

Go Sharks!
