First Week Recap

Hey Sharks!

We are officially done with our first week of practice! We had an awesome first week as we got back into the rhythm of things and it was great to have a normal summer swim start after the crazy year we have all had. This week we mainly just got back into swimming shape and worked on Freestyle and Backstroke a lot and it went great. I just wanted to go over a few things now that we have a better grip on what our season holds in store for us so please read to the end.

Reminder we do NOT have Friday evening practices so no practice tonight! When we switch to our schedule B we will start having Friday morning practices but that is not until the week of June 10th.

We are working on finalizing our practice schedule still so updates for that will come so please bare with us. However this week I anticipate our schedule staying the same.

This weekend is Memorial day weekend and as it is a holiday we do NOT have Practice this Saturday (5/29) Or this upcoming Monday (5/31). Practice will resume as normal on Tuesday.

Our Mock/Time Trial Meet is coming up on Tuesday June 8th so PLEASE if you can attend sign up your child for it on the website as you would for our normal meets. This meet is good practice for running our regular meets and it also allows us to get a base time for every swimmer which helps with the future meets and track each swimmer's improvement throughout the season.

If you have not already please download the swimtopia app onto your phone. It helps ensure you get live updates from me on practices or meets in case of weather delays or any other quick announcements that may come up.

Do you think your child would benefit from 1 on 1 lessons with one of the three coaches? All three coaches offer private lessons at the same rate and would love to get the chance to work on specific strokes, starts or more with any of our swimmers. You can find all three emails for the coaches on the website under the About and Coaches tab.

Reminder we really appreciate all the Mako parents continuing to be extra eyes on the water for us during their practice. We have a lot of bodies in the water to make that practice run smoothly but the extra eyes especially on the swimmers waiting their turn is greatly appreciated!

Thank you again so much for helping make this season happen. As always if you have any questions for me you can email me or talk to me before the first practice starts. GO SHARKS!
